I wonder, when I buy an Fsp branded psu or ups, am I buying from an American company Fortron Source or Taiwanese company Fsp?

So from your answer, it looks like it's a Taiwan-based company I think?
Yeah, the FSP Group you are asking about here is headquartered in Taiwan, but I imagine they have most (if not all) of their power supplies in China. They pretty well mirror Seasonic in that regard.

Pretty much all tech is manufactured in China, just a different factories with differing quality in what they put out.

It looks like Fortron Source is mainly Industrial. From my browsing, they were part of FSP group with Sparkle and Protek Power. It looks like Fortron Source is HQ in USA, but their web page says manufacturing facilities are located in China.

Thanks for your answer. So, apart from their products being made in China, when I buy a psu or ups from Fsp, am I buying it from an American company or Taiwanese company?I looked at my Fsp branded ups' box and the manufacturer is written as "Fsp Group" and on another label "Fsp Technology Inc".

If you want to buy from an American-based company, you have EVGA or Corsair.

That said, they don't make their own PSUs, and pretty much all PSUs are made in China or Taiwan.

Thanks for your answer.:)

Actually in my case it's the opposite.I have a love for some Asian countries(including Taiwan) and I bought my Fsp branded ups believing that it was from a Taiwan-based company(I don't mean the country where they're made,I was aware that they were made in China). After a few months, after some reading on internet I started to doubt that it may be considered as a Fortron Source/USA product actually, they are made in China but the company behind might not be a Taiwan-based company but Fortron Source US .

So from your answer, it looks like it's more like a Taiwan-based company I think?

Pretty strange bias, maybe it's better to reward companies that either make the best product or best value for your needs?

I get keeping money in a country but at the same time, it's still rewarding a company for outsourcing their manufacturing which is a bit backwards ethically, IMO.

If you assume choosing the location of manufacture is an ethical choice, is it ethical to purchase anything made in the USA?

^ I'm not the one caught up in the dilemma enough to post a topic about it, and your (too few) words do not adequately ask an answerable question. Please don't be lazy, elaborate on what you mean.

It is more ethical to support companies that either employ their fellow citizens to manufacture, or at least don't exploit regions with lower standards of living and wages, furthering that situation rather than demanding a better work environment and wages.
