Is Procter & Gamble a good company to work for in terms or pay, career advancement etc...

After writing their 50 quetion skill testing exam and an interview, I am invited to their Canadian HQ for the final comprehensive interview for an internship position with the Information, Decision and Solutions department as an analyst.

It is going to be an interesting day where the first 2 hours will be spent with my host, where it is a free Q&A session and touring the office and meeting other potential co-workers follwed by a 1 hour interview (2 different people), concluding with a lunch with my host.

I am wondering if P&G is a good company to work for in terms of career advancement and pay.

Anyone of u gguys here work for them?

If you applied for an internship and P&G then surely you know who they are and how big they are. If not...

They definately take care of their employees, but you should be aware that they are a very conservative company. They are the text book definition of corporation.

An internship with them will go a long way.

LOL... that article's gripes are that P&G

1) registered too many domain names on the internet.
2) Supports brutal regimes by operating in different countries... umm... Oh and they had a licensing agreement with South Africa during apartheid. Which was over 20 years ago.
3) was polluting a river in Florida by dumping water which contained a legal limit of dioxin.
4) is considered to be a mean towards animals by reasonable organizations such as PETA.

The second interview is pretty much just to get to know you and find out where to best put you. I already passed the first round of interview. Only highly prospective candidates go in for the final comprehensive interview.

I had an internship with them a couple years ago. Awesome company to work for. I've never been around a better group of people. Benefits are excellent. Like one of the above posters said, and internship with them is worth a lot,.

people say it's a great place to work, so i would assume so. But don't ask the opinion of forum members per se, ask people who actually work there. Their opinions are all that matter.

My gf did one two years ago in research. I think she made like $600 a week.

It's great on the resume and it'll teach you a lot about corporate culture (good and bad).

If you're in Marketing (specifically Brand) then its probably THE best company to work for, period. Some will argue Coca-Cola and Nike have better culture and what not and they're probably right, but for someone just starting out and learning the trade, its the best place to hone your marketing management skills.

If you're not in marketing (i.e. IT) then I guess its as good as any other Fortune 500 company with an IT operation.
