Hi,
I had a XP1800+, KR7A-RAID, 512 Crucial 2100, Visiontek Gforce3-Ti200, Blah.

When I moved into a new apartment, I couldn't keep the heatsink.. it was a thermaltake jet-engine sounding one.
So I grabbed a cheapo at a certain store I'll not mention.. It was braned in there name and reads "Evercool"

To my horror, when I got home, I saw that the design was the worst I've seen. It has 2 plastic finger levers on the side, and the springs are located INSIDE the heatsink fan, requireing you to PUSH DOWN on the core to get the wretched thing on. (I can provide pics if needed.)

Never the less.. $20 was spent on this POS. And I was desperate to get my machine going..

So I put it on... The machine worked for a day or so, being used for 10 min or so and then off. Until WinXP gave BSODs and finally the monior like stayed Orange when the macine was started.. So being the fool and ignoring the obvious, I noticed the southbride fan on the kr7a was no longer spinning, so I thought it might be a mobo issue..

Bought a A7N8X -deluxe rev2 from newegg.. internal external light is on, a new Coolermaster from newegg's on. and I get same problem, but no beeps. I can see no visible damage to the core. Do you think it's dead?

Edit Cooler Link Also one of the CPU pads got ripped off.
