I have no problems with PNY, I'd buy them before some Jaton or Point of View stuff.

Rollo, anything negative to say about PoV from your experience? I'm asking because I want to buy a Point of View GeForce 7800 GTX 512. Sorry for the OT.

My PNY 6800GT ran cooler, quieter, and overclocked higher than my BFG 6800GT. The only reason I have my BFG is the lifetime warranty. Other than that the PNY was the better card. Go figure, eh?

from my experience, other than ocasions when a whole series of cards out of a certain brand is fvcked, and then you hear about it, and know to stay away from it, then it's mostly a matter of luck (i.e. getting a good card).

PNY also has a lifetime warranty on their video cards, although my first choice would be EVGA for a 7800.

the lifetime warranty means the lifetime the product is being sold.

Lifetime Replacement warranty does not cover items out of production if PNY no longer stocks them.

that lifetime dosent seem so good after all huh? Other comapnies will give you a similar or better card during a RMA if it's no longer stocked(ATI gave 9800pros as rmas for 9700pros). with pny, you're ******.

To pny, apperantly lifetime means about 1-2 years on most products.

PNY is mediocre... but I do often see bundles with AMD processors.

BFG and eVGA are the best, XFX is also very good... then comes the rest.

PNY does not have their fake lifetime warranty anymore for their current cards. But to have conducted such a shady business practise makes me leery.

I was actually aware of this & if you read the fine print in everyone's warranty terms you'll
find they arn't the only company that does this crap.. I only bought a PNY card last time around because it was the only 6800GT in stock anywhere at the time.

No it isn't a good brand, hence the deal. All the cheaper cards aren't good. Just like XFX.

I would be one of those people. My PNY 6800GT has been running at Ultra speeds since July 2004 with no problems at all. Very happy with it.

I know it's popular to not like PNY around here, but it's a video card and it works...

I didn't mean to imply I wasn't happy with my PNY 6800GT, it OC's to Ultra levels & runs every game I've thrown at it very well including FEAR & Quake 4...in fact at almost two years of ownership it doesn't owe me a thing, its just that I'd go with another company givin a choice, I'd buy either EVGA, BFG right now if I were after a 7800.

I find the analog output quality VERY SUBPAR for my 6800, along with many others. However, it was fine on my PNY 5900, so it may be specific to certain models.
I'd go for it though.

I've heard some people have this problem, but mines fine... just lucky I guess.
