Pepperoncini is about the mildest a pepper can be and still be rated over zero on the Scoville scale. They're pretty god for adding a mild kick to a salad, but if you like hot you'll be better off with the hot pepper rings. Even those are almost always very mild. Pickle your own peppers, use poblanos or jalapenos. They're really easy, cheap and delicious.
 
They are hot depending on the brand. I get these ones that have galic cloves mixed in and between the peppers and the garlic you get a bit of a kick. Also dont skimp. The cheaper ones I find to be very salty tasting. If you can find them get Mezzetta brand peppers. Kinda on the high side but is soooooo worth it.
