is peanut butter a condiment or an ingredient?

Peanut butter is an ingredient.

You can substitute butter for any ingredient on any and all sandwiches. However, if you switch out the bread with butter, a grilled cheese sandwich will no longer be a sandwich. If, however, you choose to put the butter on the sandwich maker instead, that can be a pleasurable experience.

You wouldn't fill candy with ketchup.

An ingredient can be a condiment. Ingredient is used as part of cooking/preparing food. A condiment is added after. Mustard is added to a tuna sandwich as an ingredient, and then after as a condiment.

Weak, take a stand.

Well, it's also a lubricant.

Check this out:

-------------------------ingredient------condiment-----food-------lubricant
peanut butter ------------- x --------------- x ----------- x
mustard ------------------ x --------------- x ------------------------ x

This data tells me that peanut butter wins.

Stay away from anyone that uses it as a lubricant. Set up a camera though, as I am now curious.

Have you tried almond butter? What's it like?

I see it in the store and get curious.

it depends. I will butter my toast and sparingly spread peanut butter on it...but if its just bread I will thicken the shit out of it with PB.

Not as sweet as peanut butter. Also has a drier taste/texture. I like almond butter in banana chocolate smoothies or almond butter and jelly sandwiches but I wouldn't eat it straight like I might PB or use it in every situation I use PB.
