It's only illegal if you shoot your neighbors pets while the pets are on your neighbor's property. It's not illegal here to shoot animals on your own property if they're not on the endangered species list and if you live outside "city limits".

<edit>

oh yeah, and you have to have tags for that animal and it be in season.

However, if nobody knows you did it, you're not likely to be caught.

Meh, if you let your domesticated fowl run all over the neighborhood and get run over by cars, you don't have the right to complain if someone does it in on their own property. They are a local nuissance, the cops wouldn't do anything (even if I wasn't joking about eating it.)

I would be surprised if there was a "season" for "hunting" a domesticated fowl. They typically only have hunting seasons for wild animals.

So I went to town to take my son to the dentist and lo and behold, another big peacock, this one with full plumage, was right in the middle of my lane of the road (3 miles down the road where they usually hang around). I was nice and didn't hit it.
