Is PAT automatically enabled on the IC7 since its 875 chipset?

as the topic says.. or is pat enabled by using the game accelerator options (which makes my system unstable..)

Yes it is. On the 865's you must enable PAT via a bios patch, GAT is just abit's own version of PAT.

but on my ic7, there is an option for the game accelerator also.. if that is disabled in my bios, do i still have pat running since its an 875 chipset?

hrmm. i wish a bios was made without gat on it at all, but a bios that was good for oc'ing. does gat even work in 5:4 ram ratio?

you cant disable GAt, only put it on Auto, turbo, street racer, and F1...no off
Auto is disabled, also if you run in anything but 1:1 its disabled.
And GAT is not the same as PAT.
PAT is automatically enabled on the IC7

As far as Abit IS7 and IS7-E is concerned:
Auto actually disables it. Why would you want to do that? That way you are loosing 5-6% on performance, the performance that puts you on par with 875. If your system is unstable, thank to the memory you have, buy a better memory.
The whole trick of buying Abit IS7 and IS7-E is to use GAT and get the Canterwood performance on Springdale board.

My Abit IS7-E with "street racer" puts up bench numbers like IC7. That is the whole idea of overclocking, pay less and squeeze out more. Though I have to say I see only about 2-3% gain versus "auto". The real trick is step on it using "F1" setings but since my memory is already on 2-3-2-6 I rather keep lower timings than have instabilities.

^^i can run F1 with the memory 1:1 easily but i just want to OC to 3.0 with 5:4 and in order to run other than GAT settings i have to up the cpu voltage which i'd rather not right now:D

Which means I have a better CPU. :D
I mean I am running 3 GHz with 5:4 on my 2.4C.

^^but i am running that:p
but yeah it may just be my memory why i cant run gat settings with 5:4 on stock voltage

It is probably memory since the recent 2.4C all go easy over 3 GHz. And Abit are powerboards too.

The IC7 is only $20 more than an IS7. No tricks needed! :)

bringing an old thread back to life...hopefully...

i have a simple question. i have an IS7, w/ GAT set to Street Racer in the BIOS, yet i am using a 5:4 CPU : DRAM. now CPU-Z says the performance mode is enabled. i thought GAT cannot be enabled on an 865 board w/out a 1:1 ratio?
