is pariah really this slow and rubbish?

I have a athlon64 3400, geforce 6600 gt using the v77.72 drivers. I have been thinking about getting Pariah so I tried the demo and it crawls along at between 20 and 40fps. Please can someone tell me if the full game has better performance? Would I be right in my impression that Pariah is just another rubbish console to pc conversion with no pc specific optimisations. The worst part is that even my old GF4 Ti4200 is getting exactly the same fps as my geforce 6600 gt!

Here are some results I obtained using fraps:-

low quality settings

1024x768 = 20fps
1280x1024 = 19fps
1600x1200 = 17 fps

how are yuo getting these fps(what program or is it a console command)? Fraps has problems with reporting low fps for many games

btw, pariah is built off the UT2004 engine which was orginally a pc game. it is NOT a console port so it should be considerable faster. i realyl think that the benchmarking is reporting false numbers.

I wouldnt' go off of demos. They're never as well made as the final product. The demos are full of memory leaks and aren't build to fully utilize your video power. I never got past 30fps w/ the BF2 demo but can easily go past 60fps w/ higher details than the demo.

I wanted to like Pariah because of DE being awesome, but the game was just pants, plain and simple. After Half-Life 2, there's no excuse for stuff like that.

I decided not to bother getting Pariah because of my experiences with the demo and all of the negative press about it's rubbish gameplay and performance.

Just thought that I would report that the poor Pariah performance I was having has been fixed with the v77.77 drivers, using the 77.72 drivers I have getting 30fps max but now I am getting almost 100fps more!
