Is P4 C and p4g8x a go?

Nope - it won't work without some cooling mods to get the P4G8X to run the 800 FSB reliably. I just sold mine so I cound run my new P4 3.0C - I had to get a Canterwood mobo
 
😕 Ok, you said not with out cooling modificatons. First of all, how do I get the p4g8x to go to 800 fsb? Second, what will be the result if you just drop the p4 c in and don't change anything?

My system;

P4G8X
P4 2.4C
MSI Ti4200
WD 80JB
1 GIG Corsair Ram
 
IF the system runs at it's default FSB, and the board puts out an appropriate voltage, you will probably get a 1.6G/533MHz processor speed.

If you can o/c the board to 800, the northbridge will be pretty warm. (not sure as to AGP/PCI speeds- they may end up significantly out of spec)
