Of course.

As for how.. You just have to, I guess. It's a total mind thing, you have to figure out how to motivate yourself.

I have shocks for my car sitting in my closet. I've had them for a while now. I have the tools, an air compressor, impact wrench, a nice new jack that I bought a month or two ago, etc. And I still haven't gotten around to installing them!

Yea, I know what you mean.

I'm the same way with some things. Sometimes you just have to think about it for a few days before you finally do it. Shrug.

Join the Marines for 6 years. They will solve all of your problems for you.

Don't worry about motivation, you will embrace it.

Laziness will not be in your vocabulary.

This indeed is very true. Although I've thought about this many times to get into shape I am already disqualified for being on an anti-depressant. I'll have to be off of an anti-depressant for at least one year and have to go through a bunch of tests to prove that I am OK off the drug.

Jesus H. people overcome far greater adversities every day. Lose their entire families in car accidents, lose limbs, confined to wheel chairs for the rest of their life, traumatized by brutal acts of violence. You're wondering how it is possible to overcome a lack of motivation.

You get out of bed every morning, whether you want to or not. You shower and brush your teeth. You put your pants on, even when you're wishing the roof would just cave-in and crush you to death.

You put one foot in front of the other, even when you don't know or are afraid of where it will take you, because to do anything else is to admit defeat, to give up, to roll over and die, and none of those are acceptable options.

You do this every day, even when you feel there isn't any point to it all, for as long as it takes. You do it because you have faith that it must get better, though you don't know when, or how, or why.

You do it because someone has it twice as bad as you and doesn't complain half as much...and you admire that. You do it because someone has it twice as good as you and complains twice as much...and you don't admire that.

Life isn't about 'deserve'. The man who reaches the mountain peak didn't get there because he 'deserved' to. He got there because he understood the peak would never come to him.

Either stop thinking about it, or start climbing.

that will now be my standard advice to my immature, under-achieving, don't know what to do with their lives relatives.

If so, HOW DO YOU DO IT?

Soend less time on the interent.

One method:
Make a list of things you have to do.
Prioritize the list in terms of what is most important, give these tasks an A, and the least important tasks an E.
Do the number A tasks first and then do the B, C, etc in order.
Ignore the E tasks completely.
Update your list daily.

Another method:
Schedule, actually write down, your day into periods where you do what have to do.

For example:
7:00 am Wake up
7:15 - 8:00 am Bathroom time
8:00 - 8:45 am Breakfast

You get the idea.
