I just installed a 3.5" LCD temp and fan controller. The CPU temp sometimes goes over 100 and I set my temp alarm for that thinking that would be hot. Is it for an AMD 2400xp running at 333 mhz bus?

the other temp probe is on my RAM and it sometimes tips the scale at 95-96

100 degrees? Goodbye processor. Either the reading are wrong or you have SERIOUS heat problems. :Q

If his ram is getting to 96 too I guess it has to be fahrenheit.

Unless he keeps his case in an oven...

Yeah, I'm sure thats got to be F. I'm not sure the CPU would even run long enough at 100C, you'd definately be having problems by then. :p

lol I like that. And I'd hate to even see 95 run on 8mbs of ram!

130 F is pretty normal with stock cooling in a standard computer.

100 F is very cool for a computer just in idle. If you can get that in 100% CPU Usage, that would be impressive.

celcius is standard for pc temps. if your pc isn't locking up, its a pretty good clue its not too high. 100c would boil water....cooling 100c by fan? hahahaha funny stuff:)

Ive seen it run on 8mb of ram.
Everytime the computer started up, which took about 5 minutes, it said "please insert more memory". It was dreadfully slow.

lol ya its 101 farenheight hehe 38.333 C.

I get max 101 (38.333) at 75 percent usage. (BF1942 or Adobe Priemer) so I take it that is ok for an AMD.

Anything under 60*c for a Athlon is considered OK. Preferably under 50*c.

My temps (much slower cpu) are 34C idle 38C full load. Case temps stay at 30C.
