I need a spreadsheet program to keep track of my dvd, bluray and digital movie collection. I was thinking about installing openoffice for Windows https://www.openoffice.org/ .

On majorgeeks the download page it says it is ad-supported. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/apache_openoffice_org_for_windows.html

Is this true and if so is it PUP's that can be avoided during install? Is it some type of toolbar? Or is it simply ads for other Apache products if they exist? I'm also concerned that the official openoffice site download is from sourceforge. Can any OO chime in here please?

Also, is there another simple malware free spreadsheet program for noobs available?

If you don't want adds, pay up. A copy of office 2016 can be had for about $75.00, Add free plus you get Word etc.

First off, OpenOffice is a dead product. There's no reason for it to exist. It's malfeasance that they don't link to LibreOffice on their home page, and dissuade users from downloading their software. LibreOffice is the paragon of libre office software, and where the developer time is going.
