is online gambling illegal? If not, do you have a site you recommend?

I imagine this thread is going to be locked for immorality but just in case it is not locked maybe you might have a suggestion(s) for a site where I can gamble.

At least in a real casino, you can see a real roulette wheel and have a prayer of a chance that the wheel is honest.

Online, I can write a blackjack app that... whoops... just happens to give all the aces to the dealer.

I'll locate my server outside the USA, take all your money, and I'd like to see you try to sue me.

Why would ANYONE gamble online!?

I'm not sure I'm gonna do it (gamble) but I'd like to take a chance and max out my 6 credit cards and try to make enough so I can retire.

Guys,

There is much more to this than the Casino stuff. You can bet on college and NFL football games easily. As you can imagine, there is no way for an off-shore site to rig this.

One of the most reputable sites is Intertops.

I would also like to know the legality issues, especially dealing with how income taxes may apply. Apparently it is legal in certain states, since I have seen advertisements associated with reputable companys.

It's almost always illegal when it comes to off-shore stuff(and it's illegal on shore, well, because it's against the law here;)). PayPal even got nailed for processing credit card transactions for off-shore sites, so you might as well forget about it now; besides, even if it were legal, you'd still lose.;)

Online casinos are ILLEGAL within the USA and its territories. It is BOTH illegal to operate an online casino in the USA as it is illegal for a US citizen to bet online. Falls under the federal wire something something act. This is the reason 90% of online casinos are in Costa Rico. Do some googling on the laws and past lawsuits.

most cc's don't allow deposits onto gambling sites. i tend to stay away from casino games (blackjack, roulette, craps, etc) because of the concerns other people have stated already. but for poker against human opponents, big sites are partypoker.com, ultimatebet.com, paradisepoker.com

sports books, i use caribsports.com, but intertops seems to be a big name as well.

i can definitely attest to the fact that there is plenty of money to be made online, if you are willing to learn how to play poker well. don't be so quick to put down something you've never tried before. i have already cashed out several thousand from the poker sites i listed.

You mentioned the three sites that I play at, ultimatebet being where I play the most, but both PP's are good as well.

So do you place your bets with a credit card or deposit $$ another way (e.g., wire transfer)?

thanks.

webpitstop.com
I have a link on my website (webpitstop.com-in my sig) under tech favorites...It's a Canadian Indian Reservation. Money can be transferred via debit card or using sites like Firepay, Neteller, etc. I've used the linked site for sports betting for several years. Money is payed back to original withdrawal source first and anything over is sent by check (less than a week). Never been cheated. Can't say the same for casino and poker sites...something ain't kosher with them. I don't like playing "real time" games with electronic shills. Sports results are cut and dry...results versus the spread or moneylines are easily documented.

what is this "juice" that I've heard people talk about regarding online sports gambling?

Is it a commission taken off your winnings?
