A month ago my garage door opener started acting up. Neither of the cars would open up the door so I figured there was something wrong with the receiver because it opened and closed just fine with the wired button. But then, I went up to my bedroom over the garage and the RF remote to turn on the lights didn't work.
The next day everything worked just fine and has worked fine for a month until today. Now, exactly the same stuff is happening again.

Is one of my neighbors setting off some sort of ElectroMagnetic Pulse via a nuclear device? I've been wearing my tinfoil hat and codpiece all day.
 
Do you live near an air force base? They use the same frequencies as many garage door openers do illegally.

That was what I was thinking the first time, but it's a pretty quiet neighborhood and I couldn't hear anything like an arc welder. Also, it's been going on for at least 8 hours now.

Have you checked your power line? Check to see if your getting steady 110-120VAC.

If it dipped a lot, your appliance might not power up.
Other then that i have no clue. Maybe a transformer near your house is acting up?

I live about 4 miles from Detroit Metro airport and 2 miles from Willow Run airport (small private), but neither is military. Surprisingly, I'm away from all the flight paths. No airplane noise.
 
Oops, I'll stop. Did not realize the range on this thing was that crazy.

I keep loosing connection to my satellite so I cranked the gain up on my transmitter. 9000kdb was maybe too high.
 
Have you talked to the CIA about this?
You should ask your friends at work if they also suspect illegal nuclear activity in their neighborhood. You may be on to something.
