yes

it's a bitch getting over that initial 1xx price tag, but they're really nice

however, don't get them if you have a tendency to lose things ^_^
if you sit on em or step on em, most of the time you can just bend it back

My pair just broke and they are out of warranty. However Oakley is replacing them for only $22. :) They are definitely worth it in my opinion.

yep, i had a pair of 130 dollar oakleys.. and lost them after havng them for 2 years :|
i missed them so much that i went out a week later and got a brand new pair.
its real hard spending that much money on them, but the are real comfortable, work great, and are overall nice glasses.

They are definatly worth it if you have the cash.

I lost the first pair I ever had (I loved my E-Wires) and sat on my Zeros and broke them. I think I should just buy some cheapos from now on :)

i'd say so...

They are espeically good for atheletic events. They don't slip off your face like many styles. The lens quality is great. Sure, they are expensive, but you get what you pay for.:)

Ive had mine for over a year and a half. BEST SUNGLASSES IVE EVER OWNED, hands down...

I got the Oakley Minutes from ashford.com and have never regretted the purchase. When ya get expensive sunglasses, ya treat em nicer too...

no they don't bend easily

after you wear them alot (5hours/day for 6 months) they get a little loose around your head, so you bend them a lil bit and they become tight again

i think they look pretty nice, high build quality(like everything else oakley), would recommend =)

if you have the money, i think the t wires look nice too ^_^

<< What do you think of them? Do they bend easily? >>

As neuro said, if you wear them around a lot they begin to get really loose on your head and you have to keep bending them back for them to fit. Got pretty annoying after a while. Finally, I lost my T-wires and went ahead and bought a pair of glasses that don't require any sort of bending. Cost me $300 though.

I don't think they're worth it... but I have Smith's so that's probably why. The value is very low with Oakley. you pay only for the name.

<< Hmm... I wonder if the new spring hinges fox that problem? >>

That's what I have.. A Wire 2.0s with the spring thingy on them. Had them for about 6 months now with no problems. They don't cover your eyes as fully my Fives do but they are still quite good. Only complaint I have is that they dont fit as snugly on your face as their nonwire glasses do. Light can come in from the top and sides. The wires do look cooler though.

If you want something that will completly block out the sun from your face get the Fives (or which ever size fits you right)

I'd almost say yes. I have an old pair of e-wires from about 97 or 98. The clarity of the optics in a pair of Oakleys (or other high-end sunglasses) is unbelievable. They don't compare to the cheap glasses. That said, I think the material they make the frames out of is such crap that they aren't worth it if you have any chance or losing/breaking them. My e-wires are so bent up its crazy. I tried finding the t-wires a little while ago hoping they wouldn't have that problem, but they apparently canceled those.

Now I have a pair of Ray-Bans (ditched Oakley due to style reasons) and they have pretty much the same problem. Awesome optics, somewhat crappy frame construction (bends way to easily, especially the nose bridge).

If you wear sunglasses everyday like me then it's worth it.
I used to wear Giorgio Armani, then switch to Oakley couple months ago.
I got the e-wires. fit my head like a gloves.
Very high quality made, frame feel very sturdy.
I got it from Ashford with 20% off coupon.
If you can get any discount at all with oakley, it's a bargain.

for those that said they bend and to bend them back, id strongly suggest taking it to an eyeglasses place to do it for you professionally..

and yeah i got a pair of juliet's. they're worth it. great glasses but really expensive. buy a pair of $10-20 cheapos and they'll break every few months..

I'd have to say spending over 50-75 gets past the price/performance barrier I had some xframes for awhile and they were damn nice, but having sunglasses that spendy sucks and the lenses scratch real easy. So i'd have to say spend 50-75 and youget good quality ones that are real nice to look through, but not wallet empting price. I personally use $5-$10 sunglasses, since I lose them like crazy, and like being able to not have to worry about anything when I;m out

I would be a rabid Oakley fan if they were priced about 30% less than they are now...so those Full Metal Jackets would cost $91 instead of $130. Still plenty of profit, but more earthly and realistic prices. But Oakleys are priced such that it's a stretch to consider them "worth it". And they are NEVER DISCOUNTED (legitimately). :|:|:|

I really like 'em, of course, but when I have bought them in the past I really felt imprudent for spending that much on a pair of sunglasses.

Nope, not worth the cash at all....they are the Nike of the sports glasses world and charge accordingly. People pay extra for the brand. Granted, they are very nice shades, but not proportionally nicer than others to justify the premium prices. I just picked up a set of glasses from Zeal Optics and am extremely pleased with them. Not only were they much cheaper than Oakleys ($110 with carrying case and three sets of swap-out lenses Lazor Frames) , but they have an excellent replacement policy as well. Very good customer service as well, there was some confusion when I placed my order and Wink (one of the co-founders of the company) called me personally to clear up the order. Pretty cool IMO.

FWIW- the other reason I went with Zeal is that their prescription glasses are the whole lens...not an insert (like Oakley) or a separate clip (like Bolle and others). I absolutely love them...PM me if you are a glasses-wearer and have other questions about this.
