i think their current budget card is the nvidia 6800GT ultra, but dont quote me on that, my sisters friend's boyfriend's dad's brother in law told me so, although, if you're serious about gaming, i really advise going for something a little more in this direction

What's so budget friendly about a $300 card? Do think about it![]()

The Geforce4 ti4400 cost about $250 new....
This chip is mainstream part build on 110 nanometer process with eight pipes 256 bit memory interface and it will be clocked at 425 MHz core and 450MHz memory. Not bad for a mainstream part.
We expect 8000 3dmarks from it and eventually you will get very nice performance for its sub $200 price. It might be a very good seller, I predict.
This core is much cheaper to produce than NV40 generation as its die is smaller. A 110 nanometer will still remain more expensive then 130 nanos but this will level up or get cheaper soon. You just have to build up the volumes.
Those NV 43 cards are expected in autumn but you never know when they are actually going to be available.
Nvidia's Geforce 6800LE will remain OEM only, and if you don't want to buy several thousand pieces, you won't be able to get one, sorry about that.
It's clearly a political and strategic decision as Nvidia saw its 6800 LE card as competition to its upcoming NV43 part. For Nvidia it's much cheaper to produce the NV43 than its NV40 derivate, the same old chip just crippled by speed and pipes.
