I like how Nvidia releases new 8800-series cards just as new DX10 games are becoming borderline unplayable. Indeed "mid- to -low end". You can expect 20fps for the games that are coming out at launch, and decreasing performance each month afterwards. LOL.

Talk about the ultimate antithesis to "value".

I heard Q2 for both nvidia and ati, which means late Q1 for nvidia and early Q4 for ati... Of course, there are a whole lot of positive rumors flying around ati right now, so maybe they're going to do this one a little better.

Have to agree, we've had DX10 cards for a year now roughly and now that games are becoming available, our hardware can't handle the truth with no remedy on the horizon aside from tri-fire or some insanity driven marketing extravaganza.

Dual RV670's or the like seems like best bet until Q1 08 at the earliest.

I thought I read somewhere on here new cards were coming out November? Or are those just the mid-range cards?

As far as I can tell it's all FUD so far. The only thing that's for certain is that Nvidia is releasing a performance-ish card pretty soon. The high-end is still up in the air.

My step-up expires on Dec 21st, I'll hold judgment until that day.
