To organize my files better I created a folder and some sub folders, then copied files off of another drive to the folders I just made. I'm logged in under an account with administrator privileges in Windows XP. I can't get into the sub folders, though. Every time I try I get the error message "...is not accessible. Access is denied."

WTF is going on here? I don't get it. Even if I log in under the main Administrator account I can't access them. I made these files so they should all have the correct permissions anyway. What's the deal.

Someone please help!

Did you check the security permissions on the folders you moved? You may have to add the administrator group to the security permissions of the folders in order to access them. Even as an administrator you can still be denied access to folders that don't have the proper security permissions. Good Luck.

Unfortunately in WinXP I can't figure out how to access file permissions. In Win2k you could right click -> properties -> security. In XP I'm not getting the options to do so for any files or folders.

This is crazy. I've done a search on the forums and ran across some threads of foks who've had the same problem, but no one has been able to answer them.

What's the deal anandtech gurus?
