is newegg's "rush order" a gimmick?

Just wondering what you all think about this feature. I always check it off just to get my stuff shipped asap, and I think it's worth the extra 2.99 if I order it at noon and can have it shipped the same day, prett much guaranteed. But do you all think this is kind of a business gimmick just to get extra $$$ per order, and should ship it anyways, or do you think that it's a legit act on their part?

i dont use it cause they get stuff to me fast enough anyway

Most of the time it it's not shipped out that day it will be out the next morning. But you could always just order in the morning and it will most likely be out that day.

I would not bother with it. They ship stuff out so damn quickly anyway.

Rush processing is unnecessary since they process your order up to the warehouse stage within the same day anyway.

And with their warehouses spread about the country now, I get my stuff in 2-3 business days. They're unbeatable.

I don't think I've ever used it. Maybe once, when I was ordering a new motherboard, but I don't remember.

hmm with all your replies, maybe i should not check it anymore because it seems like you guys get stuff quick as it is! I mean i always get stuff within 2 or 3 days of shipping, but recently I have done rush orders and its shiped quickly so maybe im used to it. Next time I order, I'm not gonna check it and see if it ships just as fast

My last order I didn't do it. I ordered in the morning and it was picked up later that afternoon.

i thought most places ship out your order as long as you order before 4:30PM(their time)? then the rest of the time to get to your front porch is the carriers delivery time.
