im not 100% sure about this, im going off of friends and ppl from other forums who have ordered that proc and recieved a tbredA

here is a great site explaining athlon processors [l]http://lowyat.isentral.com/guides/athlonxp/[/l] there is a section on the new 1700+ at the bottom too.
you can also check out some of the max o/c of tbreds here [l]http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/TBred/[/l] most users also post their setup

Here is my thread for these two sites. You can type your chip's numbers in and it will compute what you actually bought. When I checked my numbers, it made my night!

And they come multiplier unlocked right?

Umm no. 2.4gHz is more like XP3000+ if it wasn't a barton

2.1gHz is more like a XP2600+

Also, looking through that database, the first 1700+ with a Vcore under 2.0V is at 2.5gHz, so they AREN'T wonder chips. Just a bit better than the earlier tbred B's I think.

yeah, my 2600+ runs at 2.08, though at stock voltage it does so @ 190 fsb.

no it's 1.6v
but at least it's not Tbred A...also it's 0307.
Mine is a downgrade from 2600+ so I booted up at 2600+ (12.5x160) and it works fine

I am running at 1.7v. I figured they couldn't run it at 2600+ @ default so i bumped a notch.

yeah...

i think these new DLT3C's are over rated as compared to the DUT3C's

it's all luck that some people are getting 2.5, 2.6 ghz on air...

most people seem to top out at 2.3 ghz...

my 0307 DLT3Cs tops out around 2.2 ghz which is actualy slower than my 0302 DUT3C which does 2.3 ghz....

anyway... i have one last 0310 DLT3C on the way... and we'll see if it can do 2.3 ghz .... if not... then... i'm gonna have to say that it's not worth paying the extra... 20 bucks to get one of these from excaliber..

but if anyone is interested, i'll be selling off this 0307 tomorrow... for around 60 :)

I got my 1700 from excaliber doing 2.2 right now 192x11.5 1.6volts and that was right out of the blocks! I am going to lower the mult and raise the FSB to see if I can get closer to 2.3 now.

I just received my replacement 1700 from Newegg after the first 'A' core I got had about 15 pins bent over at a 45 degree angle on the indexing corner of the chip. Here is the replacement that I was sent using the questionable ID script that is on the web now.

Athlon XP Processor High-end
Core Thoroughbred-A
CPU Model 8
Performance Rating 1700+
Working frequency 1467 MHz
Package Type OPGA
Operating Voltage 1.5 V
Max Die Temperature 90° C
L1 Cache Size 128 KB
L2 Cache Size 256 KB
Multiplier 11x
FSB Frequency 266 MHz
Stepping Code AIRGA
Manufacture Year 2002
Manufacture Week 24
Production Batch M
Batch Production Number 0121
Downgraded from 2600+

I use the term questionable since, I am not aware of any Downgraded 2600+ A core T'breds. Now realize I am a moron so I maybe entirely wrong. This chip is going into a new Linux Server box, so if it will overclock beyond 1533 which is what I run that sweating Palamino 1800 at, I will be very happy.

Crap, looks like Newegg has a lot of older A cores still left. I'm thinking about ordering several and picking a good one and selling the rest. But the lottery idea does'nt really appeal to me either.

It's a tbred A. You should get more than 1.533Ghz. Typical 1.6 to 1.8ghz. :)
