Must visit:
-Pat O' Brians. They invented the Hurricane Drink.
-Cafe Brennans. Expensive brunch, but damn tasty, and some of the finest coffee I've ever had. Excellent Banana's Foster.
-There are tons of bars and such wanting you to stop by, so drinks can be cheap. My buddy got us about 6 Buds for 10 bucks, for example.
-Food, OMG the food. It's among the tastiest cities in the world. Something is in season year round. It revolves around crawfish and oyster seasons and something else.
-I hate seafood, but I grew a liking to some of it...that's how good the food is.
-Don't limit yourself to N.O. Try out some eating at Mandeville, Madisonville and Covington...just across Lake Pontchartrain.
-The bridge over that lake is awesome. It tripped me out.
-If you have control over transportation, or if you have friends that are adventurous, try going to Baton Rouge. I would suggest waiting for football season...it's quite a scene.
I love how LA loves football. I wish SoCal had the same genuine love for it.
-That time of year is great anyway. Some cool days can sneak in, but don't count on it.
Plus, if you go to that Alligator farm in/near Covington during September/October, you get to hold baby alligators. How cool is that. Not many people get to do that. It's seasonal and rare.
-Go on a swamp tour, feed alligators marshmallows. I never thought swamps and marshes can be pretty.
