Is Netzero a good ISP?

Netzero free service is good, because it's free... unless you can get another isp for free with no banners....

Their premium service is ok, didnt' like their banner, but compare to AOL's expensive price and their shi++y interface...Netzero wins again.

You get what you pay for, except when it comes to AOL.

Actually, I'm talking about their premium service. This goes back a while, I paid $9.99/month and I was promised unlimited service. Then I got a letter from NetZero that they can't keep me on the service because I use it too much. And I prepaid six months at a time too! They did offer to refund the money, but the unlimited for $9.99 is bogus. And the banner does not go away after you pay, Just the ads do - you still have to keep the silly NetZero bar there.
As of at least December 2001, Netzero was not representing or marketing their Platinum service as "unlimited" and I don't believe it has ever described it as "unlimited". An email I received in December of 2001 promoting its Platinum service, which I still have in my trash folder, describes the benefits of Platinum service over Netzero's free service as follows:
NetZero Platinum offers you great member benefits, like:

+ No banner ads
+ Faster page loads
+ Longer surfing time
+ 10% more screen space
Notice it stipulates "longer surfing time" which implicitly suggests it is "limited". Although I, too, was under the impression that Platinum service was an "unlimited use" monthly plan, I cannot find any evidence that Netzero has ever represented it as such, at least not since December of 2001.

Weird.
