I have them both installed and they both seem to work 100% I like Adaptec for its fast cd copy. nero always gives me Errors.

ack! I have formatted and REFUSE to use ANYTHING that says Adaptec...and I wont use the crappy plextor utilities either...
I DO sometimes get errors in NERO as well..but for the most part it runs perfectly!
I always had problems running direct CD and ANY other writing software...now I just use CLONECD and NERO exclusively...

Direct cd always screws up my burner programs once its installed. I would avoid installing it.

I wasn't able to install Nero until I removed DirectCD. Nero uses another app called InCD to do packet writing.

I installed Nero first, then eventually installed Direct CD and they both worked fine. However, now I get an error message trying to use Nero, something about 'drive not ready' when I open Nero up. Anyone know what's up with that?

the nero website has a patch or something that will allow you to select which drivers to load up when your system starts if u want to have both programs installed on your computer.

i have found even better burning software than either nero or adaptec- Winon CD 3.7 professional. i got it the other day and have been messing with it last few days. it has better packet writting software than direct cd and is a whole bunch easier to use. if you can find i highly recommend this

I have had no problems with Nero and Adaptec EasyCD. Lots of problems with those two and Prassi though.
