I have a Nero 7 with latest patch and can't get MP3's to burn. Nero just stops responding. If I choose to burn the whole folder with mp3's it works fine. And yes, most of them are ripped from CD's I own. Any Idea's?

Nero 7 is not fully compatible with Vista. You might want to try CDburnerXP pro or imgburn instead which are both free programs for burning and both are made for Vista. (CdburnerXP pro 4.0 is out and is now Vista compatible.)

I had no problems with any Nero 7 version even with Vista x64,infact I'm using Nero 8 now with no problems,I would try uninstalling Nero 7(try their uninstaller which can be found at their website) then once you have done a clean uninstall, try a fresh new install of latest Nero 7,no reason why it should not burn, unless something is wrong with the install/update of Nero 7.

Btw you tried burning with Nero express?

yes, I tried the express.
The Nero I have came with a dvd-rw drive and I installed it on a fresh instalation of Vista. I will try to reinstalled it now that vista has been somewhat patched. If this doesn't work, I will give the CdburnerXP pro 4.0 a shot.

Thanks guys.

Wtf...

I've been using old versions of Nero 7 something or other since Vista RTM last November, & now x64 just fine.

Also used Nero Lite just fine too.

Nero7 is hit or miss with my pc and vista ult 32. I do a lot of dvd encodes and burns, most time it works great and then 20% of the time I am ready to throw pc out window.

A lot of times the splash screen will lock and stay in middle of monitor, on top of all other windows.

I think I will try nero 8 and see if it is better!

UPDATE
ok, the new cdburner xp stops working as well. Even if I convert the files to WMA, which is working with Nero 7.

What speed are you burning at? Try turning down the burn speed and see if that does not correct the problem. This could be a problem with the burner itself.

Its not the burner since I can burn anything else. The sped I usually burn mp3's is 16x. But the nero stops responding when I'm just trying to add the files to the queue. If I convert them so they are not in mp3 format, it works fine. WTF?
