n.

1. a. Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
b. A particular form of this activity.

2. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.

A sport requires physical activity. People pitting their physical skills against one another. Sitting in a seat and turning a wheel isn't matching up physical skills, any more than playing a racing game in an arcade does.

Chess isn't a sport either, it's a game.

I notice you left #3 from the definition off. Doesn't really suit your definition now does it?

Hahahaha...

#3 isnt racing in NASCAR anymore so it does take out a little bit of the sport 😱

Professional auto racing is a freakin sport... all of you that think you just sit down and drive like you do on your Sunday drives are obviously 😕 😛 Hell... go-karting for hours alone makes me tired as hell... and those are little tiny karts... so please... 😛

I left off #3-9, because they were defining something else. I believe the usage of the word sport in the first two definitions is the most commonly used one.

#3 is in direct odds with the first two definitions, and would widen the definition of sport to include anything that involved movement and was fun.

I'm sure going 200+ mph with your complete focus and attention on what you are doing in fear of your life is not strenuous.

mentally yes, physically no

So taking 6g's in a corner isn't physically strenuous???

You aren't doing anything, it's happening to you. Are astronauts playing a sport?
