Is my xiphoid of abnormal length?

I can feel it poking into my abdominal region if I sit hunched over. Is it supposed to be this long? I couldn't find anything about the average length online. And yes, I have asked the doctor about this. He wasn't too concerned.

i heard average is about 5-6" dude.
but its the way you use it, i wouldnt worry

having now found out what a xiphoid is, I'd say even if its a minor annoyance in some rare cases, forget about it.. an operation to shorten it would be scarey/ dangerous IMO :S

My xiphoid process was sticking out too instead of normally being inlined with my sternum.

Went one time to my doctor to complain about it...he laughed at me and said don't even worry about it if I don't feel any pain.
