Is my Wii Defective???

Bought a Wii from CC. Arrived today and I opened it up. Installed it correct. Half the time I get the error "An error has occurred. Press the eject buttong, remove teh game disc, and turn the power off. Please read the manual...." This occurs for Zelda and Wii sports, probably more than half the time whenever I switch discs.

What's my best option? Return the system? contact Nintendo? Has this happened to anyoen else?

why won't taking it back work? My friend use to work in CC, his sister is a manager there. He says I can return it if it's defective.

are you removing the disc while you are still in the game? try pressing the home button (the one pretty much dead center in the middle of the wii remote).. and bringing it to the wii menu, then turning it off, and only after doing this turn the wii off and change discs... see if that gets rid of your problem or not.

haha heck no. I'm an experienced gamer. I put the game in correctly. I'm sure - label facing right when on the stand / label facing up when system is horizontal.

I quit to the main wii menu before i change discs. I put in Zelda, it loads up to the 'controls set up' sometimes and it freezes there. Or it goes black and hangs there. It's a defective system - it even says so on their webpage.

I guess i'll return it. Thanks!

Yeah, that's the crappy part. I waited so long to purchase a wii, set it up and it doesn't work correctly. I even woke up early the last few days in order to wait for the mail man...!

I guess i'll settle for a refund - I'll have to prowl the sites again for another unit....
