i'm running a website with a database that allow users to submit and search song profiles. it does not include any mp3 or music files.
it'll just show you the song's genre, label, year and beat per minute. the site is made for dj's to look up a song's pitch.

i don't want the riaa coming at me and trying to take my life savings like they did to that college student... and now that even lyrics are becoming illegal, i dunno what kind of info about songs you can post anymore...

You are probably not allowed to post the name of the song or artist, a review of the song, or anything else closely related to even non-commercial music.

But screw the RIAA, and host the site on a non-US site instead.

Sounds legal. If it only has information and such, that is already public information as soon as it is broadcast or played in public. The words, pitch, and so on are available to anybody that listens. As long as you are not recording it for redistibution or anything, sounds fine.
