Is my Video card the culprit? Help plz.

Ok, I have recently been having problems with my games crashing. Up until last week this has never happened and now I can't even load Morrowind without it crashing me to the startup screen.

I can get Empire Earth to run for about 30 minutes b/f it goes crazy and finally crashes me out to the desktop.

What's the deal? I have made no changes to any of my hardware or software. Is my comp possessed or is my video card in the death throes?

Is there any specific test I can run to check if it is the video card? Any other things that might cause this to happen?

Any input is appreciated.

Spec's in sig.

Thanks,
Mj

I'll give memtest a shot. Would a bad memory module cause crashing during veavy video card use?

The system "seems" to run perfectly fine outside of the problems I have playing intensive graphics games. I have no problem running media player to view clips or play songs. I can utilize my office programs without a hitch, can burn CD's and can surf the web for hours. It just doesn't want to play games.

It will run EE for about 30-45 minutes b/f it crashes but it won't even run Morrowind for more than 30 seconds (I assume b/c Morrowind is much more graphically intensive).

I tried to run 3DMark 2001se last night and it crashed to desktop after the first screen...

No the temperature has remained constant. The odd thing is, this just cropped up. I have run this system for 6-8 months playing CS, Serious Sam and EE without problems. The all of a sudden it won't play them anymore. It's frustrating!

What new software or hardware was installed lately? That may give you a clue. Does your other games still run fine?

Ok, problem fixed. It was my PSU not my card. I put the card in my spare box and it ran like a champ. Then I swapped PSU's...Voilla..Problem solved.

Thanks all for the help.
