At first I was like OMGWTF why isn't your card dead? Then I realized it was in farenheit lol. We use celcius over here :)

that's a fine temp.

my x800xt hit 102 C awhile back.

apparently the heatsink was all clogged up. Now it's around 70 C.

My card has similar temps as well. Seeing that Nvidia set the threshold at 120C I suppose its ok. Video memory would probably fail first before it gets that high though.

Man, there must be something wrong with my temperature reader then. I have my 6800 OC'd to 400/800 and when running HL2:LC with various levels of AA and AF on, the max the temperature ever gets is 56C. So either there's an error someplace in what Rivatuner is reading, or the NV Silence and AS5 is doing an amazing job.

Do you have rivatuner running? The key is to catch temps while you are playing not when you exit the game and return to desktop which by the time in just seconds, temps would have gone down. Rivatuner can keep a running graph while you are in-game.

The nvidia threshold is messed up. Don't trust it. It says the threshold for the 6600GT is 150C, does that sound trustworthy to you?
