Is my video card failing?

I own an EVGA GTX 660 Sig with the ACX cooler. It has performed beautifully for the last 6 months since I bought it, but just recently I noticed something odd. When I play Dota 2, something strange happens. Whenever my character spawns, instead of showing the normal shower of light, a big bunch of red "X"s will appear and move exactly where the light particles are supposed to be. It's very odd, other than this one thing nothing else is abnormal, but it still bothers me.

I'm wondering what you guys think. Is this graphics error just a weird glitch, or is it indicative of a bigger, impending problem perhaps?

If other games work fine and its just that game. I'm not sure how that game works but check for file integrity option some games have. might be just a corrupt file needs replaced.
