Is my ti4200 a Lemon?

I recently upgraded my old geforce SDR to an Aopen ti4200 (128mb.) Acording to Guru3d the board is "quality," but for some reason very odd things are happening. Images on my monitor shake, a weird flicker emits from the lower left corner of my screen, and when i overclock the board, I see artifacts at a mere 490mhz (on the ram of course), and the damn thing freezes when the memory is overcloked to 530mhz. I never had the flicker problem on my 256, and i'm SERIOUSLY contemplating returning this card. Any one?

Monitor: Samsung 955DF

That doesn't sound happy at all. Where did you purchase your board? Was it a refurb? If the company you purchased it from is good about returns, see if you can have them send out a new board and then send in yours when you get the new one (if you don't have a temp card you can use).

490 for the RAM is extremely low, even for the slower ram in the 128mb cards. I have an Abit 4200 64mb, and for comparison, I can OC to 600mhz w/ no artifacting.

Does the flickering occur when the computer posts as well, or only in windows? Have you tried different resolutions or refresh rates?

Good luck :)

I purchased the board at gameVE, so i think i can exchange it for another Aeolus without paying a restalk fee. I have tried every combo of refresh/res i can think of. The only conclusion i can come to is that the board is a lemon. I had an eVGA ti4200 for a while as well, and it didn't have any of these problems. Wish me luck on the return.

Well for 1 thing, it's rediculous that the memory cannot be clocked at 490mhz. Regardless, the image problems are happening at stock speeds.
