Is my temp normal?

I have the Tbird 900 and K7m my motherboard displays a temp of 36C but i think the heat comes mostly from my Maxtor somethin 40Gb+(7200rpm) and my 16x Pioneer DVD Is there a way to tell what temp is normal? And how high could i overclock?(1200?)
 
The temp I believe you are referring to is the temp of the motherboard and it's chipset. This doesn't have anything to with your cpu or other components. Yes 36C is pretty normal for a motherboard.
