Is my TEC (Peltier) performing as it should or what??

K I bought a 50w TEC when I got my athlon, I tryed it once but realysed that the 50w TEC was not strong enough for my athlon. Yesterday I tested how cold the cold side could get and I was not happy with it. The TEC is a TOM LEUFKENS type for athlon. The cold side only gets to 6c 8-(.. the hot side is no hotter then 35c (the heatsink). Is this correct or is my TEC damaged?
