Is my Tbred B locked?

I forced my Tbred B 1700+ to use a 166MHz FSB and it works. So now my CPU runs @ 1833/166 and now I want a 2GHz CPU. So I tried raising my TbredB 1700+ multiplier from 11x to 12.5x and restarted and it won't even boot.

Could it be the Tbred B is locked? Or the voltage needs some increase?

12x166=2.0 ghz (12x167, really), but, you've already overclocked your processor almost 400 mhz without having to raise the vcore (cpu voltage). If you want to go any higher, you'll need to raise your vcore. The processor will only be locked if it's a fairly new processor.

If you are able to change it in BIOS, is it locked?? P4's are "locked", and you can't change the multiplier in BIOS. I do not not know that much about the T-breds. My brother did have a 1700+ "B", and he was only able to get around that same level w/o raising Vcore. Strap on a quality HSF, and raise that voltage for more MHZ!.

T'Bred B are not locked. You just have to raise the V Core. And BTW do not raise the multi so drastically. At 166 Mhz the jump is 1.5 *166= 243MHz.
