My PC will randomly...

A) emit a beeping noise out of the speakers, and freeze my PC
B) only cut off any sound from working

Once I reboot, everything is fine for a while until the sound decides to die again sometime (could be hours). This just started yesterday, and has happend 3x already. My PC has been mildly overclocked, but I set it back to stock just to be sure (Although I don't think it's a CPU/RAM stability issue since i've neverheard overclocking messing up your sound.

I'm using an Audigy gamer, and i've been using the latest drivers.

Have you tried to remove the card and just use onboard sound to see if you get similar errors? That should isolate the problem... As for speculating about why it may have failed in the first place, when you OC'd a bit did you lock the PCI frequency at 33 Mhz in the bios? I've heard that allowing the PCI frequency to go above 33 can cause instability at times...

This is most likely another of the phantom Audigy squeal BSOD/Freeze problems... Take respite in the fact that you're not alone, but don't bank on finding any quick fix for it :( Start Googling...

Alright i'm switched to onboard now. Omg wow... what a WORLD of a difference in sound. I've never used the onboard for this mobo, and boy... it's bad. It sounds rhaspy, and dry. Not to mention there's static with the mic, and speakers heh.
