It could be i suppose, you have made sure that your case's filters aren't clogged up, the heatsinks are clean and that all the case fans are running as they should?

Mechanical failure is far more likely than a solid state device malfuntioning. But both are possible.

Everything is spinging but my Card fan is at 87% -at idle right now, and before it was at 50% at idle.

Also it just sudenly happened, also it happened after i played NFS:Undergrond One,
my cards fan went fast just like it alwasys does when ever i play a game but after i closed it down(the game) my cards still was spinning so fast...

I have no idea what to do.

You have made sure that there isn't dust clogging up the heatsink? Don't mean to nag but that's got to be the first suspect ime.

Yes i know what you mean, the cards HSF is clean, i just cleaned it about 10 min ago along with my processor's HSF and my intake fan.

Also my processor is a lot cooler then normal.

It used to idle at 45-56C now its at 30C and somtimes lower then my mobos temp at 27-28C.

Do you have lower 2d speeds? It sounds like it isn't working and the card is always running at full speed. Nvidia had the same problem on one driver (7x.xx) and temps were always 20C higher. Or the hs could have shifted so check it.

I don't know, is there anyway of knowing?

Also i don't know if this helps but i think these are the programs that deal with the 2d clocks.

Ati smart and Ati pol .... thouse are set to automatic.

Also the HSF is okay.

My current speeds are:

Core: 499.50

Memory:495.00

Also voltage is:

VGPU is 1.075 V.

MVDDC is 1.889 V.

MVDDQ is 1.889 V.

Is this normal or okay?

I was playing need for speed underground 1, see i had always play'd my games at very very low settings before i got my X1800XL and i had remembered that i had not plyed NFS:UN1 since i upgraded so i thought what the hell, "If i can play NFS:UN2 max'd out i wonder what will hapen with this game".

And i had max it out for the first time, also i had noticed that the game was very fast, esp to load races.

Any way i only played for about 10-15min then quit.

And normaly after i exit any "3D game" or something that requires my grafix card to really spin, my video cards fan slows down back to its idle state with a temp of 30-35C.

Same fan settings what i had before.

I had the 6.2cat but i uninstalled it, then installed the WDM drivers then the 6.3 catbut when i tried to play Far Cry my game was mess'd-up.

So i did a system restore back to the 6.2 drivers and everything was fine.

So what do you think is the problem?

so your gpu is hotter than normal, your cpu is running cooler and your gpu heatsink doesnt feel as hot as it did?

Well to me it sounds like your heatsink has become unseated.
IF you dont mind blowing your warantee and feel up to it you could remove the heatsink, clean it and reaply some gunk to it!

If the card works perfectly then I don't think you can RMA it.

All the games and everything work fine?? You try changing drivers...removing ATiTool...tray tools...CCC???

If the card games perfectly I doubt they'll let you RMA it.

My games arn't working fine its really slow now and for some reaso gta3:vice city doesnot work anymore.

Do you think if i get a after market cooler it will make a diff, also i don't care about the noise, i just want to play my game like to way it was ment to be played with the X1800XL.

Is this the best cooler i can get for my video card?

What do you guys sugest, do i revome the heatsink and put an after maket one or should i rma it.
