Is my SATA drive being recognized properly?

I just recently bought a Rapter 36GB 10,000 rpm SATA hard drive. I went and installed WinXP MCE on it, and after reading some of the posts here, it seems that my SATA drive might not be installed properly since I didn't do the whole "F6 during install" thingy. My mobo is an ABit IS7, w/ fully updated drivers. Is there a way to check, to fix, or do I simply need to do another install of Windows and make sure to install the 3rd party raid/sata drivers?

Yeah, if you have already installed the OS you don't have to worry. The problem some people have, depending on the motherboard, and the SATA controller, is that windows xp won't see the hard drive as being there unless you install the drivers. If it sees the drive, without having to install drivers, then they aren't needed.

Correct-a-mundo! But installing the drivers that are specific to the device can yeild better performance. Chipsets come to mind on this one, Installing chipset drivers after the os has loaded will have a noticeable improvement on efficiancy. Same holds true for you HDD Controler.
