So my roommate grows some plants in the house near the window.
While he was gone, I cooked some food and then opened the windows to let out the smell; and in turn raised the blinds.
When he comes back, he says the plants will die from direct sunlight exposure and gets all pissed.
The blind were up for maybe an hour and the sunlight doesn't even come through that window.
So i tell him it's not gonna kill the plants and if we kept the blinds up until the summer, nothing's gonna happen.
Then he yells at me saying they are indoor plants and they are not even supposed to be near the window in the first place...?
So I tell him, "well since the plants are green, doesn't it need sunlight to phtotosynthesize? and how did they fare in the wild before humans took them indoors?"
He won't listen and is still pissed... any comments?

he's worried about an hour of sunlight in the winter? hah.

Some plants do prefer shade, but he's taking it way to seriously. Several hours of direct summer sun may be bad, but what you described isn't.

I don't think anyone's going to offer anything resembling a useful response until you specify what kind of plants your roommate is growing.

Some plants live in shady places, others live is sunny places. Notice that you don't see many cacti in coastal redwood forests, nor do you see many ferns in the desert.

what are you plans?

will you continue to expose them to sunlight? or will you comply with his request to not open the blinds?

ok simple question:

if they're not meant to get any light, then why on earth does he have them near the window?

Yeah. He doesn't want the damned plant exposed to light and puts it near the window?

1) What kind of plants?
2) Which direction does the window face?
3) Was it very cold outside when you had the window open?
