Sounds sociopathic to me. Life is too short to associate with people like this. I believe your roommate has the same perspective as school 'bullies' and, like them, cannot be changed. They can only be controlled by sitting on them regularly which feels good but, makes you exactly like them. Find a different room mate.

Family money? Anyways, folks like your room mate can't stand up to close examination so, if he actually has to work with any of the folks he tries to scam, they'll know in a hurry. If he sticks to hands off minor league scamming, well, there's one born every minute. Get a new room mate.

This is absolutely true, and I thought this would probably come up eventually.

That's the other thing that makes it hard to think about stuff like this, because I definitely am biased.

I've openly told him that I'm bitter about his lifestyle. The guy never tried his whole life and is now making 6 figures while he works from home 5 hours a day (tops).
