I use multiplier so Im thinking it shouldnt matter. But heres where I got curious.

I had my RAM timings at 5-5-4-11 .... andn I noticed I couldnt OC the CPU stable at all. All this time I didnt know this. Soo I put the ram to 5-5-5-15 what its speced at and the CPU doesnt crash and passes all tests and stable as a rock.

So this told me, the more stable your RAM, the more stable your CPU OC.

Heres my question. I wouldnt mind DDR2 1200Mhz , question is will that allow me to OC my CPU even more ? Thanks all! good to be back!

I want to get 1200Mhz DDR2 ? I dont mind spending 100 dollars on 8GB ram then selling mine.

4 sticks, 2GB each. Plus if it can OC to 1300Mhz with 4 sticks .. Wat yall think. I know I wont see a difference but I want my memory to run at a higher frequency then it is just for the heck of it. thx

Buying DDR2? Why throw money at that?

Wouldn't the better bang for the buck at this stage be to start putting those benjamin's in a piggy bank and save up for an upgrade that would include DDR3?

You should always run RAM at what it is specified at, or slower timings. Not faster. Especially if you are overclocking. You are still on 775, right? (Q6600?)
There's no need for DDR2-1200, your motherboard wouldn't handle 600 FSB anyways.

In my BIOS it shows DDR2 all way up to 1949Mhz ,,,

Soo 1200Mhz or 1300Mhz would work. I choose the first option which is 944

In AIDA app it shows mobo is compatible with DDR3 1333 . I dont know what thats about....?

its best to use a 1:1 ratio on the lga 775 platform. with the ddr2 1000 sticks you have, you have to reach 500fsb to run them at the specc'ed speed.

ddr2 is a waste nowadays and so is putting any money into a lga775 platform when you already have a quad.
