Hello, I just put together my new "AMD64 Rig":

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU
DFI LANParty UT nF4 Ultra-D Motherboard
(512MB x 2) Crucial Ballistix PC3200 DDR RAM
BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC PCI-e GPU
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200GB SATA HD
Dell UltraSharp 1905FP 19" LCD
Lite-On SOHD-16P9S CD/DVD-ROM Drive
Sony 3.5" Floppy Drive
Antec SmartPower 2.0 400W PSU
Antec Super LANBoy
Logitech MX510 Performance Gaming Mouse
Generic Keyboard

In time, I plan to add these components:

Swiftech, Thermaltake, or Thermalright custom heatsink
Logitech Z-2300 200W 2.1 Speakers
Creative Labs SB Audigy2 ZS Sound Card
Maxtor DiamondMax10 200GB SATA HD
NEC ND-3540A CD/DVD Burner

Suppose I were to add all of that stuff plus OC'ing my CPU, FSB, and RAM plus plugging in my iPod and maybe another USB/Firewire device plus lots of multitasking, gaming, and encoding... would my PSU handle it?

If not, what wattage would you suggest for stability? Money is a factor, so please don't suggest a 900W PC Power & Cooling PSU.

Thanks for your help!

yes.

these dont use any system power
Logitech Z-2300 200W 2.1 Speakers
Dell UltraSharp 1905FP 19" LCD

These use minimal
Logitech MX510 Performance Gaming Mouse
Generic Keyboard
Creative Labs SB Audigy2 ZS Sound Card(+5V)
Sony 3.5" Floppy Drive(+5V)

These might use anywhere from .5A to 2A on the +12 rail depending on model(too lazy to search up but it'll say on the top of the drive)
Lite-On SOHD-16P9S CD/DVD-ROM Drive (my liteon DVD burner uses 1.5A)
NEC ND-3540A CD/DVD Burner
Maxtor DiamondMax10 200GB SATA HD (usually .5-1A +12)

Uses 89W on load
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU

Uses around 60-70W on load
BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC PCI-e GPU

Uses 14W total
(512MB x 2) Crucial Ballistix PC3200 DDR RAM

Uses ~30w
DFI LANParty UT nF4 Ultra-D Motherboard

you'll be fine.

what you reall need is +12V amps but with that psu, you sohuld have ample. I have supplied what uses how many amps except for the last 3 items which eith use a combo of a least 2(+12 or +5 or +3.3)

also, rmemeber how many fans you put in. thesw will use .2-.4A on the +12 Rail each.

That's a fairly demanding setup, but that PSU should be able to handle it.

Gracias, hombres.

I'm feelin' a whole lot better now.

I'll keep those suggestions in mind, shoRunner, in case I'm able to sell my PSU.
