Is my PSU failing?

Dam PC just shuts down and power back up for no reason. Running everything at stock. It's not like a BSOD or a regular restart where the fans etc are still running while the PC boots back up.

The PC acts like when someone yanks the power plug from the PSU and then starts back up.

Would be very sad since my PSU is the oldest component in my rig 🙁 Need to check if it's past it's warranty period.

Just to be on the safe side, have you set in windows the system to NOT automatically restart. Windows 7 -> control panel -> system.. -> system -> advanced system settings. Untick the box automatically restart and tick the box log to file.
To read the bsod logs bluescreenview is an option. 🙂

Yep did all that stuff. But this is not like a normal restart where all your fans, hdds are still running. In my case the pc literally shuts down, fans, drives, water pump everything and then starts back up.

I am going try and clean the PSU, sure it's got some dust boogers in there.

That would be my guess also. The only instance where all these precautions have no effect, is where the PSU is gone bad. 🙁

Agreed. 🙂

Cleaning it won't help you there mate, you need to get a new plain and simple to not do more harm. Important.

Good idea try another psu. Is that possible. Always when you are doing troubleshooting, have minimum hardware connected and yes that includes mouse and keyboard. Just boot and recognize the post beep. That's when you run it without even screen output. Trial and error...
