Is my PSU failing?

Processor: AMD Phenom II x3 720 2.80GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P
GPU: Nvidia 9800GT
Heatsink: Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus
PSU: (not so great) Xion 700w
Ram: 8gigs of DDR3
CPU temps: Idle-20c/underload 35c MAX
GPU temps: Idle-45c/underload 55-60c MAX
Abient temp: 20c
Question: Ive been using this rig without upgrade or replacement for 4 years. My computer will randomly turn off while playing games, like the power chord was pulled out. It takes a few mins up to 10-15 mins for me to be able to turn it back on and it usually requires me turning off the power supply and turn it back on, initially I could just turn it off and back on. More recently it is increasing in time before I am able to turn it back on. Sometimes it runs the same games for hours and others a few minutes although it seems to be getting shorter and shorter in time before cutting off. Since my temps are just fine, I suspect it may be my PSU failing but I am far from an expert, help! Thank you!
P.S.
I ran Prime95 and my CPU temps and GPU temps dont even get as high as when gaming (and they are not that high to begin with)
I am CONFIDENT it is not a heat issue, with that being said... people will still think it is a heat issue, I am sure.

I'm going to say based on description it is probably failing. Does any power come through when it doesn't want to turn on right away? Like are the fans and lights on and it just wont fully power?

You could get a PSU tester like this to be sure. Test it when it works and right after it fails.

My LED lights, fans etc are NOT on. My Ethernet cable light DOES remain on. I already ordered a new Corsair 750w PSU, because its time to get rid of the no name 4 year old PSU anyway, but I am hoping this will solve the issue so I dont need to start looking into MOBO or GPU as well.

Ok 95% sure it's the PSU. The ethernet light is getting power from whatever it's connected to on the other side. Same thing just happened to my PSU. It will click when you power it on, but the computer won't fire up.

Thanks for the opinion and a little bit of peace of mind. I am open to more opinions if anyone has any!
 
Yeah PS is suspect number 1. Power Supplies are so important for reliability I really recommend getting a quality model. They can damage everything in your PC.

I had a DOA PS that had strange behavior with sometimes starting and other times not. Replaced and working great.

Yea I ordered a corsair so ensure this PSU is if quality. Thanks for the advice!
