i just got my new power supply and wanted to know if it was a doa or something.
i wanted to test out my ps before hooking up my mb and the other components, but the power supply's fan doesn't move.
the power supply seems to make a very faint noise after about 3 seconds of turning on the power button.
thanks in advance.

1. The powersupply has to be under a load to come on. Hook up a hard drive or something.
2. You have to turn on the powersupply - not only the on/off switch on the back but by either connecting it to a motherboard, connecting your front panel on/off switch to the motherboard and pressing your cases on/off button OR by momentarily shorting the green wire on the ATX connector to one of the black ones using a paperclip or wire.
