My athlon t-bird 1.4ghz temps are between 59c and 65c and this keeps me worrying all the time. The HSF is the retail one provided by AMD. I do not overclock my system nor do I intend to overclock it. Should I be worried? ....My room temp. is around 41c(it's very hot right now here in India)........in winter it used to run between 54c - 57c(when the room temp was around 25c).....Do I need to get myself a new HSF?........the worst thing is that the next two months are really gonna be hell here..........the temps will go upto 45-46c......

As long as your not experiencing instabilities because of the temps you should be O.K. but you may drastically shorten your CPU's lifespan so I would personaly buy a better HS/F and add a couple of case fans to be safe.

The only thing dramatically shortening your CPU's life-span is Microsoft, Intel and AMD ;)

For lowest air-cooled temps, about the only variables you can work with are:

Install the most efficient heatsink/fan combo.
Improve case air flow-through.
Run cpu with VCore as low as possible for stable operation at chosen speed.
Install room air conditioning.

Hope this helps!
