Is my power supply enough for this rig?

I purchased an Antec Truepower 550w last year for my previous rig and I was wondering if I could use it with the new rig that I am building or is it imperative that I need a new psu?

I am building this

phenom II 965 black edition 140w
4890hd video card 1gb
1.5 tb seagate HD
8 gb 4x2 g skill 1600 ddr3
1 DVD re drive
antec 900 case w 4 fans Inc 200mm

I saw an ultra 750w psu for 49.99 at tiger direct store would I be better off with that?

The truepower 550w trio I have has 3 12+ rails at 18a each total output 550w would that be fine for now or am I in danger of frying? I won't be overclocking as of now

I actually decided spending a little more than I thought I would last night at the CompUSA store by my home. I ended up picking up a Corsair 750w PSU. Thanks for the input. I figured why cut it close?

That 550W would have been fine.
No you will need a better PSU then that. 600W or better would be a good idea.
Yeeeeeah, riiiight. I've seen good 450W PSUs handle the above config with ease.

There are two things which amaze me about PSU recommendations. The recommendation of 600 watts for machines which will never draw more than about 250 even running power virus apps, and at the opposite extreme people trying to power 400 watt monsters off of an optimistically labeled, known to explode PSU.

That TP550 was more than enough, and would have spent most of its time in the load range where it is most efficient. You'll need at least two more 4890s combined with at least a 3.8 ghz overclock to do the same with the corsair. =)

The Antec would have been fine, but the corsair will be fine-er

I guess I will just have to do that in the future :D. Yeah I was thinking it might be ok just decided I didn't want to cut it close if I want to add another HD or Blu Ray rom or SLI or anything. Besides I forgot I needed a new PSU for my wife's "new" (My old) 939 opty 165 rig since the one she is using for the 754 rig is pretty weak if I'm not mistaken.

Nonetheless I hear good things about Corsair so I guess I can't go wrong. Thank you for all the input guys I appreciate it!

Sorry, but that is absolutely not true.

I used a Phenom2/955BE with my orange HEC 400TE-2WX Unit (wich AFAIK now has 2 6pin PCie connectors).
The Truepower Trio is more than enough for that rig, as long as it's used within specs.

There is no need to replace that PSU!
