Is my power supply broken?

😕

I have an Antec case, the latest design, with a 350W truepower power supply. Other stuff is an ASUS P4B motherboard and a 2.4 Gig P4 running at 2646. I have MBM 5 installed and it shows my -5 volt line to be -1.25 and my -12 volt line to be -2.29. The monitoring system built into the motherboard does not show the negative voltage buss. My computer seems to be operating fine. What am I seeing here? Do I need a new power supply? And, if so, why is my syetem still functioning?

If the MBM readouts were correct you wouldn't be running. I've found MBM to be less than reliable with some MOBOs.

EDIT: I should add that the BIOS is usually close to the real voltages.

If that was real i'd say you had a huge issue... but it would cease to work with that kind of power at all.. so i am assuming you're just getting bunk readouts.

Thanks guys - I kinda suspected MBM was lying to me. My scant knowledge of solid state circuitry tells me that a proper negative and positive voltage is critical to the silicon doing its thing. With my readings on MBM, your average transistor would be totally discombobulated. I'm going to dump MBM and reload the program - - - maybe.
