Yesterday, I bought a power supply, a Enermax EG301P-VB FM 300 Watts. But, when I opened the box, I saw that I haved just one fan. I think that AMD recommend two fan, one in the front and the other at the bottom to evacuate heat at the bottom, in the case. The VB serie from Enermax have just one fan, it's the VE serie who has two fans. What I was asking to me is if my power supply was approuved by AMD anyway and if I can run a Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 Ghz without any trouble.

Thanks to anybody who will help me.

I just been on to AMD`S site, anyway that Enermax 300w PSU you have is recommended for ,

EG301P-VE 300w - Athlon 1000 Athlon 1100 Athlon 1133 Athlon 1200 Athlon 600 Athlon 650 Athlon 700 Athlon 750 Athlon 800 Athlon 850 Athlon 900 Athlon 950 so not for 1.4ghz,

the EG365P-VE 350w is approved for 1.4ghz,anyway I would send it back and get the approved model to be on the safe side.

btw the AMD power list is here .

Even if its not approved that doesn?t mean it wont handle a 1.4gzh Athlon. It?s pretty well known that AMD?s PS list isn?t up to date with all their CPUs. I?d say Unless your going to be running tons of drives and cards u should be fine. A good quality 300watt like your Enermax should be able to handle it without any trouble.
